In February, we celebrate love! Every year, our quest for the perfect red lipstick starts at this time. Not that we’re complaining, but the task might a bit hard when it comes to choosing the ideal red for many reasons. Some women like reds with a blue undertone, while some others prefer to opt for the classic red and not to mention, the ones who like orangey hues.

Now that it’s that time of the year again, let’s set some ground rules for choosing the right hue. First of all, take into consideration your skin tone: if your skin tone is warm, choose a red lipstick with a blue undertone and vice versa. Second, you should also pay attention to your teeth, because if you don’t whiten your teeth, an orangey red tends to makes them look more yellow. Third, never underestimate the power of the product’s formula and keep in mind that a small pout looks best with a lip gloss, while bigger lips call for a matte one. Last but not least, red is like any other dark color. So, to avoid the mess, always make sure to contour your lips with a lip pencil before applying your red.

Below is a well-curated list of red lipsticks, check it out!
