To celebrate the 10-year Anniversary of its collaboration with UNICEF, luxury Italian label Gucci has released a short film called “Growing Tall” – which was premiered at a private Gucci/UNICEF event in New York City, on June 2nd.
This inspirational film highlights the impact of education on girls’ lives and portrays what ten years of hard work and support can bring to a community. In ten years “a seed can become a tree” and “a child can become a teacher”.
Gucci has contributed more than $20 million to UNICEF in the past decade and as a result:
-8,708 teachers have been trained
-294 classrooms have been built
-1,856 new water and sanitation facilities have been constructed in schools
-14,600 desks have been supplied
-68,000 children have been provided with therapeutic nutrition and anti-retroviral drugs to protect them from HIV/AIDS
