Dior is embracing sustainable fashion and its Spring-Summer 2020 collection is enough proof to last you a lifetime! Indeed, the French Maison is now #PlantingForTheFuture and has hence partnered up with Atelier Coloco – a group of botanists, gardeners and urban landscapers – to prepare the scene of its SS20 show. And it’s on this very day that show-goers have gathered in the heart of this inclusive garden, where 164 trees were planted to celebrate sustainable fashion.
Maria Grazia Chiuri was inspired by majestic greenery for its collection, sending out models into her own forest in combat boots and beige-y shades of numerous styles. There were beige skirts imprinted with black trees, paired with blue button-down shirts, straw hats that completed lace dresses and skirts with 3d floral garnishes and mesh pieces that had sceneries of plants and flowers all over them. Pinstriped beige and black suits were all the rage and so were checkered short-suits. There was one particular golden strapless ballroom gown made out of tassels that really struck a chord with show-goers. Along came rainbow-colored pieces, from a maxi dress cinched at the waist with a brown belt to a matching set and finally, a boilersuit. Well the message is loud and clear: All hail Mother Nature!
