A Journey into the Canadian Wild with Hermès’ Arceau

Nature has always inspired Hermès in creating the most swooning Arceau watches and this time is no exception.

Nature has always inspired Hermès in creating the most swooning Arceau watches and this time is no exception. For its Arceau novelty, the French house travels to Canada and finds inspiration in its wild.

Inside the round case and its iconic asymmetrical stirrup-shaped lugs, two icy dials make for the perfect background for time to be told in Hermès’ artistic language. With each of these editions available in a limited series of 24 pieces, the Arceau Into the Canadian Wild watch tells time through a combination of white gold and diamonds that immerses us into the country’s wild nature. A polar bear and a snowy owl that celebrated Canada’s 150th anniversary through the Into the Canadian Wild silk scarf designed by British artist Alice Shirley in 2017 adorn the dial amidst a sea of ornaments.

A week was dedicated to each miniature work to be accomplished, placing the polar bear and its cub on top of waves populated by fascinating creatures and the snowy owl – emblematic of Quebec – flying amid the Northern Lights.
