The CHANEL Bag Stars in a New Movie

Continuing to build on its longstanding relationship with cinema, CHANEL released a new campaign that also brings to light once again Artistic Director of the Fashion collections Virginie Viard’s ongoing inspiration in the seventh art. Just as Gabrielle Chanel did in her day, she surrounds herself with the directors to whom she is close in order to express her passion for cinema, and this time she wanted to pay tribute to Claude Lelouch's masterpiece: A Man and A Woman.

A work that smolders with sensuality, this campaign photographed and directed by Inez & Vinoodh repeats almost word for word, shot by shot, some of the film's original sequences. With Penélope Cruz, a living legend of the film world and CHANEL ambassador since 2018, and Brad Pitt, who, with much delicacy, embodies the somewhat daunted, blushing man, the CHANEL bag is also an acting star. An emblem at the French House, it metamorphoses according to the mood lasting a lifetime, to then be handed down from generation to generation. Collection after collection, it appears in countless variations of color, shape, and material to meet different demands.

On screen, this legendary bag radiates a fragrance, a trilogy of emotions: fantasy, audacity, and freedom. It's as if there were no longer any boundaries between life and fiction.
