It’s becoming pretty clear that Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele, is taking the brand into new hip territories. The Italian designer chose an exposed-brick warehouse to present his latest collection. Models walked out from the building next door, crossed the road to finally make it down the Moroccan rug catwalk – is street style making its runway debut?

Michele dressed his models in colorful geek-chic garbs – which made each and one of them pop. Pleated mustard skirt suits, pompom shoes, thick eyeglasses and vintage neckties all made it to the show: the Gucci creature will be releasing his inner nerdy hipster next year.

Women will rock snake trench coats and electric Austin Powers suits while men will conquer streets wearing red berets and orange shirts. Watch out, Bill Cunningham, you’ll have plenty of street-style snapping to do!
