Summer Skin Guide

Let’s start off with your feet. Wearing flip flops and being at the beach can do a number on your pedicure. Make sure to apply a heavy cream after scrubbing your feet in the shower. When it comes to heavy duty moisture, my go-to brand is L'Occitane. Their Shea Butter Foot Cream will make your skin soft and ready for those open-toe heels.

Exfoliate in the shower about once a week and follow up daily with a moisturizer. If the moisturizer is just not enough to keep your skin smooth, try adding an Aloe Vera gel to your routine. It might feel a little sticky but it really gives your skin "a sip of water". The healing properties of Aloe are also amazing for sunburns.

As far as your face goes the summer heat tends to make our face a bit oilier. Switch to an oil-free cleanser like Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser for a gentle and refreshing clean. Try giving your face a break from makeup at least once a week. We are constantly touching our faces when it gets hot and that can cause bacteria and break outs. Instead of wiping your brows, grab a refreshing mist like Chantecaille Pure Rosewater which has Vitamin C and antioxidants that will give you an instant lift.

It's important to keep hydrated from head to toe and inside and out. A large hat not only looks glamorous but keeps you cool and your face protected from the sun as well.

The most important way to keep your skin and your body healthy is by drinking plenty of water and vegetable juices as well as eating fresh fruits. If you are like me and hate drinking water, try adding some fresh lemon, mint or berries to make it more flavorful. Snack on watermelon which has plenty of water in it as well!
