From Brazil, Chicago, London, Paris and Los Angeles to Hong Kong, India, Istanbul, Seoul and Shanghai, Art of the Trench digital platform is travelling the world to celebrate the creativity of influencers by capturing them wearing Burberry’s iconic trench coat.
Made in England, this piece was originally created to protect officers from wind and rain. Embodying quintessential British style and innovation, the trench coat evolved over a 100 years to become a fashion staple in every woman and man’s wardrobe.
With 20 stores in the Middle East, Burberry enjoys much popularity in the Arab countries, which convinced Burberry’s Art of the Trench platform to come and tackle the Middle East next. Over 30 influencers from established to emerging pioneers in film, art, design, food, sport, media, fashion, music, entertainment and business industries are captured wearing their trench coats.
Shot in UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Los Angeles and London, Egyptian-Italian influencer Elisa Sednaoui, TV personality Raya Abi Rached, Palestinian style influencers Sama and Haya Abu Khadra, Bahraini Fashion influencer Dana Al Khalifa and Saudi film producer Haifaa Al Mansour are among those who took the streets, perfectly styling their outfits with this iconic piece and making it their own.
Today, Burberry’s Tumblr page, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pinterest and Sina Weibo will unveil the full set of images. In addition, the project will be celebrated across the Middle East during the coming months in a series of events and activities to highlight the story behind each portrait.
