The House of Fabergé has just unveiled a jewel suite inspired by opals, its newest addition to the ‘Summer in Provence’ collection. A nod to Russian folklore, the unique suite of jewels draws upon the landscape, fabric patterns and light of the South of France, while featuring hand-painted white enamel, natural pearls, diamonds and luminescent white opals that reflect a magical blue hue.
Earlier this summer, Fabergé launched a cheerfully breezy collection of high-jewellery and bejewelled timepieces entitled ‘Summer in Provence’. The white gold jewellery watches adorned with diamonds, multi-coloured sapphires and turquoise resemble a garland of flowers woven with lovely little flowers on a breezy summer afternoon in Provence. Tiny mother-of-pearl flowers meander amidst a sprinkling of leaves and along a rounded pebble-like dial, which features monochrome ribbons in Grand Feu enamel. Emblazoned with the brand’s name, the dial is embellished with snow-set coloured gemstones and hard-stone micro-sculptures. Round white diamonds shimmer on the bracelet strap playing with light, while the transparent case back of the countered watch reveals the interiors of its calibre to showcase the artistry of watchmaking.
When you have watches so pretty, you’d want jewels to match. Which is why the Maison brought out a matching suite of jewels composed of a necklace, earrings and rings. The necklace features floral motifs adorning a detachable Fabergé egg that dangles on a bow that ties up a long chain made of emeralds, turquoise beads and diamonds. The textured creations also have a pretty ribbon that mirror the contrasting bright colours woven fabric of summer dresses.
‘Summer in Provence’ by Fabergé is undoubtedly a celebration of summer, joy, romance and femininity.
