Luxury brand Bulgari inevitably looks to Rome for inspiration to craft its unique jewels and watches. For its recent high-jewellery watch collection, ‘Geometry of Time’, the maison took a walk through the Italian gardens and created four masterpieces. This time, to seek inspiration for its latest Diva timepieces, Bulgari stepped into the thermal baths of Caracalla.

Inspired by the mosaic floors of the 216 AD baths of the Roman Emperor Caracalla and the glorious Roman heritage, the three new Diva watches are simpler, sensual and sophisticated versions and effectively capture the “glamorous essence of a contemporary woman.”

The watch evokes gentle round curves and elegance and follows on the purely jewellery-style that stays true to Bulgari’s DNA. The feminine time-tellers from the jeweller-watchmaker takes the iconic theme of the fan forward with an arc of multi-coloured gems that wraps like petals, creating a corolla of shimmering stones around the dial.

The new models also feature the Diva motif with the gem-adorned fan serving as the strap lug that connects the dainty, slender circular case to the satin strap.

The cases, available in 18k white and pink gold, have a romantic appeal. The 18k pink gold case is embellished with 78 brilliant-cut diamonds, while its pink gold crown is set with a cabochon-cut rubellite. Twelve diamond indices adorn the dial paved with 233 brilliant-cut diamonds.

The new Diva’s cellulose acetate dial is made from natural cotton and wood fibres imbuing it with a unique texture and design. This, in turn, gives the watches a two-toned striated brown and speckled white face.

The watch features quartz movement and is water resistant to 30-m. The grey and champagne satin straps have an 18k pink gold ardillion buckle, while the black strap version has an 18k white gold ardillion.
