After conquering the fashion scene with her distinctive designs, Tory Burch has won the heart of the fragrance and beauty world. Passionately so, she is now introducing her very first fragrance, the “Tory Burch Eau de Parfum”. Being a microcosm of this eclectic collection, the new fragrance is as colorful and startling as could be, capturing ever so classically Tory’s empowering optimism.
When asked about her newfound fragrance, Tory said “Fragrance is part of my personal history — my parents each had their favorite scents that are so tied to my memories. When we decided to create a fragrance, we spent a lot of time thinking about what it should be — a balance of femininity and tomboy, citrus and floral, grounded and graceful.”
A fragrance is truly at its best when it takes its core from a relatable well, which explains her inspiration from her father Buddy Robinsons’s signature vetiver, a scent merged with perplexity. A closer inhaling of the fragrance shows notes of citrus and fruits, such as crisp grapefruit and mandarin, sweet bergamot, neroli and tasty cassis. Its feminine side couldn’t go unnoted as well with its floral hints of saturated pink peony, lush tuberose, luxurious jasmine sambac and sweet alyssum. This olfactory experience is heightened with a warm cedar and sandalwood scent, providing it with the depth it need.
“It’s similar to the clothes and accessories we design — sophisticated but down-to-earth, combining disparate ideas you don’t usually see together. The fragrance is the same way. There’s a brightness to the scent when you first smell it, and then you realize that it’s more complex,” says Tory.
She does not forget about her mother, hence drawing inspiration from the latter’s bedroom to concoct the perfect elegant and classic packaging. As such, the pioneer bottle mirrors Tory’s favorite design elements, from the sloping edges to the signature fretwork top. This ornamental woody design has actually been with Tory for a long time now, making its way to the Tory Burch Madison Avenue flagship store.
She stated “I have always been inspired by my parents. Fretwork was very much a part of their design sensibility. It was a part of their vernacular, and now it’s become a signature of the brand, and the perfect accent for the fragrance.”
This classic fragrance has borne itself into a pale pink solution, matched with the brand’s signature vibrant orange color as an outer package. Coming hand in hand with a scented body lotion and a Bath & Shower Gel, the Tory Burch Eau de Parfum takes part of a blush pink packaging with Tory’s signature medallion logo.
