Always supporting the idea of empowering women and celebrating their success, Gucci founded “CHIME FOR CHANGE” campaign in partnership with Salma Hayek Pinaultand Beyoncé Knowles-Carter in 2013 which aimed at raising funds and awareness for education, health and justice projects for girls and women around the world.
“CHIME FOR CHANGE” gathers a number of organizations and individuals that aim at effecting meaningful change for girls and women worldwide. In its first year, the campaign funded more than 390 projects for women in 86 countries through 132 non-profit partners, hitting a high level of success.
Distinguished by its encouragement of global support in a unique way, people can refer to the first online crowdfundingplatform for girls’ and women’s equality Catapult, in order to connect directly to the projects and issues they relate to the most. Gucci Parfums is also an active partner in CHIME FOR CHANGE campaign, as with each purchase of the four designated Gucci fragrances, customers receive a unique code that they can use to donate 5$ for the projects by visiting ChimeforChange.org. The participating fragrances are Gucci Guilty pour Femme and pour Homme, Gucci Première, Gucci Made To Measure and Flora by Gucci.
Actress Blake Lively, the face of Gucci Première, says, ‘I am very excited that Gucci is giving back, not only through CHIME FOR CHANGE, but also through Gucci Première. CHIME FOR CHANGE is an incredible initiative that I am so connected with. It approaches real world issues in a unique way, giving you an active voice in the change that you hope to create. It becomes personal. Gucci is not only making donations, it is also helping people understand where their money is going. That donation ends up being a seed for knowledge and empowerment.’
