The season of Spring-Summer 2016 is already looking glamorous with Bulgari’s “Bejeweled” Serpenti python-skin bag. Our verdict? A wondrous mishmash of textures and eras caught in a whirlwind of floral designs. This innovative approach stems out of a beautiful painted canvas and most notably, out of adoration for a 1968 Bulgari High Jewelry necklace, which represents the luxurious brand’s quest to combine modernity and old roots.

A closer look at the bag reveals a rainfall of cabochon-cut emeralds, rubies and sapphires, seasoned with frosty diamonds. The precious stones adorned on a bed of liberated flora are construed as a desire to break free from constraints and create softer-edged frames.  As a matter of fact, the necklace made such an impact on the elitist scene that the beautiful Keira Knightly was spotted donning the high-end necklace at the Oscars in 2006.

But let’s get back to the bag; the pattern and the cascade of jewels envelop the bag in such a perfect way that the roughness of the scale is entirely preserved. The cherry on top? The luxurious bag is encrypted with Bulgari’s signature touch, the enamel snake-head clasp in black and white, and the piercing lapis lazuli eyes.

This chef d’oeuvre is the result of three months of crafting, which in turn unfolded into the creation of 68 limited-edition bags.
