The Le Brauss-based haute horologer sure knows how to steal hearts. Since 2001, Blancpain has been coming up with pretty ways to conquer our hearts. Every year since, limited edition watches and elegant versions featuring hearts, cupid’s arrow-heart and roses have made their appearance to celebrate love.
Though we are just a month away, Blancpain has decided to unveil its exclusive ultra-slim offering for the most romantic day of the year – and yes, it does feature hearts. These 99 limited edition pieces will be snapped up in a heartbeat. But before you rush off to the boutique to buy the newest Blancpain Saint Valentine’s Day 2016 as a gift for your loved one, here are some details about the romantic timepiece.
The Ladybird, when launched in 1956, was the world’s smallest round watch and soon became one of Blancpain’s iconic models for its Women Collection. The 16th token of love from the watch manufacturer features a mother-of-pearl dial adorned with brilliant-cut diamonds. The curvy and petite watch face has a mother-of pearl marquetry heart set with shimmering diamonds and rubies on its top part. The white diamond trimming along the bezel of the Ladybird Saint Valentine’s Day 2016 encases the self-winding 6150 movement, which incidentally is one of the smallest in the world and is now equipped with a silicon balance-spring. That’s the tech part, which we thought you should know.
Blancpain symbolizes love at first sight with a removable charm in the form of a ruby heart pierced by a diamond arrow, adding accent to the timepiece at 6 o’clock. The charms, designed for the Ladybird model, can be attached at either 12 or 6 o’clock, as you wish. The watch also features a calfskin strap and has the number engraved on the back of the 18k white gold casing.
Now, you have a unique numbered timepiece.
