Always known as “the masters of color”, Bulgari celebrated this expertise by morphing its Dubai Mall Boutique into a High Jewelry Temple of Color for one week. While Rome inspired these beautiful creations, Bulgari scatters them across the globe by establishing this Temple in different cities such as Paris, London, Geneva, Hong Kong and New York – and Dubai is the latest city to welcome this creative marvel.

First established in Rome in 1884, Bulgari started the journey in expressing its passion for bold designs and colors in the 1940s. The house has realized the beauty of colored gemstones after wartime, when all jewelers were obliged to abandon platinum and diamonds in exchange for yellow gold and precious stones.

The stunning color combinations which Bulgari is famed for are the result of a long process of thought and design. The aim is to form a harmonious juxtaposition in order to give all the gemstones their share of distinction and celebrate the unique quality of each.

For a subtle and harmonious color combination, Bulgari puts together consecutive colors from the color wheel such as violet, blue and green. However, striking color blends are achieved by combining colors from the opposite ends of the spectrum, or complementary colors in other words, such as red and green or violet and yellow.

Bulgari proves that every high jewelry piece is subject to long hours of craftsmanship and creativity. Every element of the piece’s design should highlight the beauty of the gemstone it embraces in true Bulgari style.

Being with the Italian house since the age of 18, Bulgari’s Creative Director Lucia Silverstri explains: “Our creations truly are made with love; from the stones all the way through production. Borrowing from cultures across the world, coming back to Rome, and creating something unique. When discovering a new stone, sometimes I touch it first before I even look at it – this is something I learnt from Mr. Bulgari. Then we begin by creating colour combinations and then the designer will get to work. It's a combined effort. We do all of this with the love of making something beautiful and special, which in the end, can be defined as a work of art.”

To celebrate this passion for colors and gemstones, Bulgari showcased 100 high jewelry pieces in this great Temple and gave visitors the chance to dive into its world and get delighted.
