Valentino Uncovers New Campaign for Rockstud Spike Bag

They say a solid advertising campaign is the key to new beginnings for a brand. But in Valentino’s case, it’s a marvelous mix of a sole creative direction by Pierpaolo Piccioli and the launching of the new Rockstud Spike Bag that is making quite a scene!  And this time, the famed photographer Terry Richardson went regal with his talent, going to a very “street-like” style. Taking part of a lavish storytelling adventure, the campaign showcases the first chapter of long and fulfilling story, through shots taken between Chinatown and Little Italy.

The “street mood” was channeled through the steamy hot month that is July, strutting down the urban streets of lower Manhattan, where women were depicting the bag’s spirit in their own special way- now that’s when things got interesting! Picture quilted totes with small studs, true to a street-style diva and a handle that can be personalized whichever way you want to! And as if we were not already going gung-ho about it, the campaign draws inspiration from the concept of “Humans of New York”. Because nothing beats capturing breathtaking moments of the coming-together of different cultures into one lavish background; the Valentino background.

Geared towards cultural interactivity, the campaign highlights a trumpeted bag that changes with every person that might take a hold of it. You want to create a place for yourself in the fashion scene? Be unique and be yourself!

“Together we have explored the streets of lower Manhattan, in New York, to depict the way in which common people, randomly chosen with a street casting, carry the bag. Same object, individual way of wearing it. We wanted to catch the uniqueness of the “Humans of NY” to underline their personality and the power of diversity. At the same time, far away from the stereotype panorama of the classic skyline, the Rockstud Spike has been pictured in every day street contexts, iconic spaces that adapt to reality rather than to an aspiration of a dream” said Pierpaolo Piccioli
