Lebanese designer Georges Hobeika has never shied away from intricate embroidery and exquisiteness in his expertise, and his Spring-Summer 2017 collection was just another testament to his creativity.
The line-up of dresses and tunics seem to be alluding to the mesmerizing movement of the ocean and its waves, hence painting a canvas full of the joys of lace adding, reminiscent motifs and dynamic lines. Flowing dresses with majestic bustiers have been a Hobeika specialty forever, but this time, the raw magnetism was enhanced through a cape-shouldered tunic, a high-slit gown featuring a sequined leg, evasé dresses with bowed belts at the waist, lightweight coats on tunics, chiffon fabrics and a whole lot of ocean-bound crafts. The color palette recalls the tones of the fauna and flora of the aquatic world, as colors skew from turquoise, emerald green, pink and orange. The cascade of embroideries, crystals and pearls melt away in the designs, proving yet again the designer’s ardor for the ocean.
But that’s just his way of exploring his exceptional ingenuity, and we love it!
