We all shower every single day, but we don’t really follow the right steps to keep our skin and hair healthy. You might be surprised – not necessarily in a good way – while reading our tips, but once you realize your mistakes, you will thank us!
Of course, showering the wrong way is not the ONLY factor that makes our skin look unhealthy and our hair dull, but it promotes an undesirable situation and we must find a way to start fixing things. Follow our tips and believe us, you won’t regret it.
1 – Lukewarm water is the best temperature you can use while showering. Very hot water strips the skin of its natural oils and dries it out.
2 – Make sure your shower doesn’t take more than 10 minutes, because long showers increase the odds of stripping the skin of its essential oils, which causes dryness and itchiness.
3 – Change your loofah at least once a month and make sure to keep it away from humidity right after you finish your shower because it can harbor bacteria, mold and yeast.
4 – Brush your hair before you wet it to work through any tangles by starting at the bottom and working your way up. Brush it again after you finish.
5 – When shampooing, distribute the product evenly, scrub for about 30 to 60 seconds before rinsing and make sure to get the nape of the neck because it can be the oiliest area.
6 – After shampooing your hair, dry it with a towel then apply conditioner and don’t leave it on for a few minutes as this doesn’t really make a difference.
7 – Use a hair mask once a week only.
8 – Now that you have finished your shower, moisturize your skin immediately after you pat it dry in order to lock moisture in.
9 – Save facewash for later because this calls for colder water, which is better for sensitive skin.
