We are back with a trove of bejeweled treasures. Join us, as we fly to the US of A to visit the multi-brand fine jewelry boutique Stone & Strand – the online platform that now has a home in Tribeca, New York.

Founded in 2013 by Nadine McCarthy Kahane and Brooke Magnaghi, Stone & Strand was aimed at filling a gap in the market, cater to the stylish urban customer and provide them with a selection of the very best in contemporary jewelry design. Interestingly, this concept store was an outcome of Nadine’s frustration with buying jewelry. “I didn’t enjoy how all merchandise was kept behind a glass case in stores. The pieces were difficult to try on, and the experience felt extremely stuffy and old-fashioned,” says Nadine.

This year, Stone & Strand has opened its first boutique at Tribeca. “We opened this space to be able to give our customers a peek into our world, and also to give us the chance to get to know them when they visit NYC.”

Only a handful of the most incredible brands make the cut at Stone & Strand. “Firstly, we evaluate their designs, handpicking jewelry that is modern and stylish. We like the unexpected, and brands that blend timelessness with rebellious chic. We then evaluate how the pieces are made and the quality of the craftsmanship, to ensure everything is made to last. Finally, we ensure that the collection is priced at a level that provides our customers with pieces that offer reasonable value,” explains Nadine. Currently, the store has around 80 brands onboard, with a mixture of contemporary and vintage pieces.
