Sunshine is beautiful, but without proper protection, it can take a serious toll on your skin. Wearing sunscreen daily is non-negotiable, but how you apply it makes all the difference. Here are simple, effective tips to ensure you're getting the maximum protection your skin deserves.

Apply Generously (and Early): Most people don’t use enough sunscreen. You need about a shot glass (roughly 1 ounce) to cover your entire body. For your face alone, two fingers’ length of product is ideal. Apply it 15–30 minutes before heading outside to let it absorb properly.

Don’t Skip “Forgotten Zones”: Areas like your ears, eyelids, neck, hands, and tops of your feet are often missed — but they’re just as vulnerable. Use a broad-spectrum sunscreen and don’t forget your lips; a lip balm with SPF 30 or more is a must.

Reapply Like a Pro: Sunscreen isn’t a once-a-day deal. Reapply every two hours, or immediately after swimming or sweating. For makeup wearers, try a setting spray or powder with SPF for touch-ups without smudging your look.

Layer Smartly: Sunscreen should be the last step in your skincare routine (before makeup) but under physical barriers like hats or sunglasses. If you’re using chemical sunscreen, apply it directly on bare skin for optimal absorption.

Choose the Right Formula: Not all sunscreens are created equal. Go for SPF 30 or higher with water resistance. Mineral (physical) sunscreens with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide are great for sensitive skin and offer instant protection.

The sun may shine, but your skin doesn’t have to suffer. With these tips, you can step out glowing – protected, confident and ready for the day!
