Coinciding with Dubai Watch Week, Hermès unveils the Slim D’Hermès Hippocampe, a novelty that celebrates exceptional craftsmanship. The Slim d’Hermès, created in 2015, becomes a canvas for engraving and leather marquetry, bringing to life a seahorse designed by London-based illustrator Stuart Patience.

Available in two versions, the watch is housed in a 39.5 mm white gold case featuring the Hermès H1950 mechanical self-winding movement, visible through a sapphire crystal case-back with hand-beveled bridges. Each piece is paired with a béton or perle Swift calfskin strap that reflects the House’s leatherworking heritage.

Issued in numbered limited series of 24 each, the dials showcase fragments of 0.5 mm leather meticulously cut and assembled to form vivid mosaics. The engraver first traces the seahorse’s contours before marquetry adds color and depth, allowing the creature to emerge in remarkable detail, for a truly refined artisanal tribute timepiece.
