Dalya Asmar Luxury Design is synonymous with refined elegance and artistic storytelling. How would you define the essence of your home décor universe?
The essence of my home décor universe lies in a dialogue and a balance between oriental warmth and occidental modernism. Each piece is conceived as a sculptural object with a soul, where craftsmanship, materiality, and storytelling converge. My designs are not meant to simply occupy a space, but to evoke a feeling, a memory, or a sense of quiet luxury that unfolds over time.

Your home décor creations feel both sculptural and intimate. What philosophy guides you when designing pieces meant to live within personal spaces?
Having been in this field since 2007, I have developed a deep understanding of what my clientele truly appreciates. This experience allows me to design with intention and precision. I approach each creation as part of a larger narrative, often envisioning a complete buffet or table setup rather than isolated objects. My goal is to create cohesive compositions that please my clients both aesthetically and emotionally, blending sculptural presence with functionality and a sense of intimacy that naturally integrates into their personal spaces.

Lebanon has a rich history of art, craftsmanship, and architecture. How do your Lebanese roots influence the materials, forms, and narratives behind your designs?
Lebanon’s cultural and artisanal richness is deeply embedded in my creative identity. I draw inspiration from the country’s longstanding craftsmanship, its architectural heritage, and its refined approach to materiality. Beyond aesthetics, there is an unmistakable Lebanese warmth – a sense of generosity, emotion, and hospitality – that I intentionally translate into my designs. My pieces reflect this balance between cultural depth and human connection, reinterpreted through a contemporary lens that honors tradition while embracing modernity.

Many of your pieces strike a balance between bold statement and understated luxury. How do you achieve this harmony in your collections?
This balance comes from restraint. I allow materials, textures, and proportions to speak rather than relying on excess. A piece can be bold in its form yet subtle in its finish. Understated luxury, to me, is about confidence – knowing when to stop and letting craftsmanship and detail carry the design.

The Middle Eastern home is often a reflection of identity, hospitality, and heritage. How do you design pieces that resonate with this cultural sensibility while remaining globally relevant?
Hospitality and identity are central to Middle Eastern culture, and I honor this through warm materials, generous forms, and designs that invite interaction. At the same time, I focus on clean lines and timeless aesthetics that transcend geography. This balance allows my pieces to feel rooted in culture yet universally appealing.

Your designs often feel timeless rather than trend-driven. How do you approach creating home décor that transcends seasons and styles?
I believe in striking a balance between trend and longevity. While I am aware of contemporary movements, I choose elements that have an enduring presence. For example, in my latest collection I am working with marble – a material that is currently very relevant, yet inherently timeless. I intentionally select materials, forms, and proportions that can evolve with a space rather than define a moment. By grounding each piece in craftsmanship and authenticity, the design naturally transcends seasons and styles.

Looking ahead, how do you envision the evolution of your home décor line within the Middle Eastern and international design scene?
Having lived in the Gulf for many years and now being based in Paris for the past four years, my vision has naturally become more international. This dual perspective allows me to understand different cultural sensibilities while designing with a global mindset. Participating in international exhibitions such as Maison & Objet Paris has further opened my work to a wider audience and positioned my brand within the international design scene. Moving forward, I see my home décor line expanding beyond regional boundaries, with a strong openness to international markets while remaining deeply rooted in my cultural identity.

Finally, what story do you hope your home décor pieces tell about Lebanese creativity, craftsmanship, and modern luxury?
Even though I have lived in many countries, my head office and production remain in Lebanon, which is a deliberate and meaningful choice. I want my pieces to tell a story of Lebanese creativity that is deeply rooted in craftsmanship, authenticity, and resilience. Through my work, I aim to highlight the skill of local artisans and the richness of our cultural heritage, while presenting a modern vision of luxury that speaks to the world with confidence, elegance, and soul.
