Dior unveiled its Cruise 2027 collection in Los Angeles, drawing inspiration from the House’s long relationship with Hollywood cinema. Designed by Jonathan Anderson, the collection revisits a 1949 haute couture jacket worn by Marlene Dietrich in Alfred Hitchcock’s Stage Fright, alongside the Californian poppy, which appears throughout the show as a floral motif.

Presented at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the collection imagined Los Angeles through a cinematic lens. Bouclé wool jackets with frayed cuffs, embroidered lace evening dresses, patchwork scarves and shearling coats reflected the city’s creative spirit. Among the standout pieces were ripped denim jeans embroidered with delicate silver chains designed to resemble strands of cotton, turning an everyday staple into couture. In turn, menswear continued the storytelling with sequinned tailoring, pyjama shirts styled with leather trousers and a series of American-inspired shirts created in collaboration with artist Ed Ruscha.

As for accessories, they introduced updated Saddle bags with car-inspired finishes, alongside new bucket and crescent-shaped silhouettes, and shoes were embellished with flowers and sequins, continuing the collection’s dreamlike Hollywood narrative.
