I recently got a massage and it was incredible. That’s probably because I haven’t had one in years, but also because I knew what to ask for. I have had some bad experiences even painful ones in the past so here is all you need to know before you book your next one.
First off is how much pressure? This is such a vague question, because it all depends on the strength of your masseuse. The best way to go is asking for medium pressure and then intensifying or lowering the strength as you go.
Another major tip is minimizing the chit chat. I used to be a chatty Cathy in the past but now that I am older with way more responsibilities, I love having my hour of peace and quiet.
Temperature is also very important; if you are like me and love to be toasty, ask for the bed to be warm rather than cool and crisp.
Everyone talks about hydrating before a massage, but if you show up hydrated that will also make you feel better. Just make sure not to drink so much that you have to stop for a bathroom break.
The best advice is to relax and forget all about your day. Breathe in and out and let go of all your stress.
