When we first saw the jungle-themed venue, we thought back to J-Lo’s iconic Versace jungle dress. But the opening looks were far from being a reminder of the ever-so famous gown. They were simple yet chic re-creations of the staple Versace codes – black blazers and dresses, geometric lines, gold buttons and sharp and bold shoulders. There were the occasional denim pieces such as jeans paired with a trench coat and a lovely denim jacket that had vintage written all over it – figuratively, of course – and there was a slew of tie-dye numbers as well. The looks were completed with knee-high strappy sandals, bigger-than-thou hoop earrings and gold chokers.
Along came the jungle-themed pieces, reprised on new styles with the pattern’s original green color palette. The print was all over blouses, blazers, trousers, mini skirts, midi skirts, dresses and so many more pieces. It was all part of a celebration of the 20th anniversary of the famous print – something that Donatella has carefully curated in partnership with Google, honoring an iconic moment in history when J-Lo walked the red carpet in the most Googled dress ever. The artist and singer made an appearance herself, creating yet another legendary moment in history.
