Tod’s initial “T” might be for Talent, but it is also, most definitely, for timelessness. Today’s show was Walter Chiapponi’s first collection for the iconic House and had “Tod’s Italian Essence” shown off to show-goers loud and clear. Indeed, the brand’s core leather tradition was celebrated with the utmost creativity, as the new creative director and designer redefines Italian style in the most elegant kind of way.
As models made their way onto the runway, a whirlpool of sophistication and unexpected boldness took show-goers by storm, revealing a series of comfortable yet chic clothes that only an effortlessly fashionable woman could pull off. There were oversized jackets cinched at the waist with thin belts and there were tailored trousers that reminded us of the House’s authenticity. Colors skewed from neutral tones to warmer hues, blending all-too perfectly well together with textured materials. Plaid pieces and Prince of Wales dresses were the extra je ne sais quoi that everyone needed to see alongside the series of iconic leather numbers. Our verdict? Tod’s Italian style takes on a new level of boldness and it is delightful.
