On the very last day of Milan Fashion Week, Giorgio Armani decided to spare his guests the consequences of the Coronavirus outbreak and hold a show behind closed doors…without an audience. And while the above statement could have sounded a bit off in an otherwise less fortunate context, leave it to Mr. Armani to turn any situation upside down.

Indeed, the famous Italian designer dedicated his collection to femininity and sharpness, sending out models in black velvet pieces – all of which were embellished with structured epaulettes, floral touches and of course…fancy glitter.

The styles were aplenty, with enveloping coats, small jackets with high buttoning and knickerbockers high on top of the list. The contrast between the tenacity of black velvet and the delicateness of other colored fabrics was striking and beautifully enticing, giving way to a strong collection and even sturdier color palette. The dialogue between men’s and women’s wardrobe was alive and well and both worlds were blending in together as if they were never apart.
