Drawing inspiration from the expressionist art movement, Zena Presley’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection is a fusion of art and fashion. Unveiled on October 24th at Fashion Forward Dubai, the creations balance between femininity and strength to capture the contemporary element of expressionism.
The Syrian-born and Dubai-based designer is known for depicting the world in a subjective point of view to express one’s moods and ideas. Staying true to the brand’s signature style of self-expression and art, Presley hand-selected art works from three Arab expressionist artists, Syrians Saad Yagan and Bahram Hajou and Egyptian Wael Drawish, in which she found her source of inspiration.
The 25-piece collection features fluid cuts and vivid colors, as well as eclectic matching two pieces. A diverse range of dresses, tops, trousers, skirts and jumpsuits sees a vibrant color palette of red, blue and yellow complimented with black and white. Mixing materials such as satin, crepe, neoprene and chiffon, Persley’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection speaks to the discerning woman who seeks for a cultural statement-making look.
