Gucci is travelling from the warm and sunny streets of Los Angeles, to the colder side of Europe, specifically Berlin, for the fall/winter 2015-16 campaign.
It’s actually an ongoing pattern for Gucci, hopping from one city to another, from one season to another and from one campaign to another. Under the creative direction of Alessandro Michele, photographer and director Glen Luchford captured models Polina Oganicheva, Peyton Knight, Elizabeth Moore, Nicole Atieno, Mia Gruenwald, Anka Kuryndina, Viola Podkopaeva,Jacob Hugo Goldhoorn, Timothy Dibble, Arnis Cievala and Anton Tofgard in an edgy yet dreamy setting.
The campaign takes inspiration from the visual language and aesthetic of German ‘80s pop culture and creates an urban-like setting, reflecting the darker side of the city. The contrast is real; clothes and accessories clash in a harmonious manner, showcasing a background of a public toilet or nightclub bathroom. Picture girls together in a powder room, surrounded by mirrors exuding a bold and intimate aura. Now picture a shot of a model on a skateboard with a peacock. Surreal, isn’t it?
