On January 12th, 2016, the Amoeba Music store in Hollywood witnessed an amazing event featuring Stella McCartney’s Autumn 2016 Collection. The famed designer hosted this event as an ode to the local music culture, where she showcased the collection to the rhythms of musical performances by Dhani Harrison, New Orleans’ Dirty Dozen Brass Band, You + Me, P!nk and Dallas Green collaboration, Beach Boy, Brian Wilson, and Johnny Depp and Marilyn Manson. The iconic designer had never presented her collections in Los Angeles, and neither had the massive independent record store ever hosted a fashion event before, making this collaboration the first of its kind for both parties.
The event was the perfect place for A-listers to make an appearance; guests such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, Leonardo DiCaprio, Orlando Bloom, Mary J Blige, Ringo Starr, Katy Perry, Kate Hudson, Pamela Anderson, Nicole Richie, Selma Blair, Emilia Clarke, Lilly Collins, Kate Upton and many more, were present to celebrate the music and the beautiful designs.
In an arcade-like environment, the sporty yet romantic collection was showcased by models in zesty animated vignettes who were seen playing with vintage pinball machines, video games, a jukebox and video screens. A sophisticated feel for a playful style, bold animal prints and graphic shapes for a masculine and feminine blend.
Guests enjoyed a selection of sporty diagonal stripes and romantic silhouettes combined with ever-so dashing accessories, such as the Falabella bag, Elyse, Binx and Odette shoes and the eco-friendly eyewear, made purely out of biomaterials.
Also, a limited edition t-shirt is made available for sale exclusively available at Amoeba Music for 35$, and 100% of its sale proceeds will be donated to No-Kill Los Angeles, an association aiming at ending the killing of dogs and cats in LA city shelters.
