Tips to Look Stunning in Pictures

With summer knocking on our door, we know that so much fun awaits us, and more fun means more pictures and more pictures mean more poses. You might think that you don’t look beautiful in pictures and that you are not photogenic, but this is so not true! All you need is a few tips and every picture of you will look oh-so amazing.

– Study pictures of yourself to determine what makes you look good or bad in photos and have some knowledge of your body.

– Practice posing in front of a mirror to decide which side of you looks best.

– Wearing the right clothes can also be a very good idea in order to flatter your body and pay attention to the colors that highlight the beauty of your eyes and your hair. For example, small patterns tend to appear messy in a photo so make sure to choose one patterned element in your look. While darker colors make the body look thinner, light colors and fabrics perfectly suit you if you are thin.

– If you tend to blink in a photo, close your eyes before it is captured and open them just before the camera clicks.

– If you have a double chin, elongate your neck and slightly push your face forward.

– Your makeup plays an important role pictures. If your foundation is pale for your skin tone, it will become obvious when the flash hits the skin. So make sure to match your complexion to your chest and add a thin layer of foundation on your neck if it is paler – which is the case for most people.

– Curled lashes and mascara are essential, as the eyes are the focal point of any picture. When they are open, the light will hit them and they will twinkle!

– In order to give your photo a character, fill your eyebrows with a slightly darker brow pencil because colors tend to look lighter in pictures.

– Look toward the light right before the picture is taken, as doing so will shrink your pupils to avoid red eye.

– Blush is also a must when it comes to makeup. Without some color on your cheeks, your face will look two dimensional in photos.

– Unlike anything too shimmery, a soft glow can take your picture to a whole new level. However if your skin is oily and you would love to add some shimmer, keep the face matte and apply a touch of highlighter to the tip of your cheekbones and on the bridge of your nose.

– Give your hair some life and volume by flipping your head over.

– Try to stand in front of a white wall, as white helps the camera’s automatic settings balance between the colors. That way your skin won’t look too pink or too yellow.

– Wear light-toned lipsticks to give your lips a plumping effect.

– Your picture will look much more flattering if it’s taken from above and if you are taller than the person taking your photo, grab a seat!

– Make sure to avoid standing directly under a light and instead, find a window or any natural light source. Soft light will mysteriously make your picture look much more beautiful.

– Don’t look straight at the camera and tilt your head slightly up or down.

– Turn your body 45 degrees away from the camera, as this pose gives a slimming effect and creates angles that look better in pictures.

– Take a lot of photos to get the best shot. Well, even models go through numerous frames to get that perfect shot!

– Now draw a natural flattering smile on your face and be confident! Summer is around the corner so start practicing from now…
