The long awaited new edition of La Traviata premiered in Rome yesterday with the presence of local and international stars such as Monica Bellucci and Kanye West, who witnessed yet another terrific moment in Valentino’s history, as the luxury house has proudly designed the leading stage costumes!
Set at the heart of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, the unique edition is the sweet creation of Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti, under the direction of Sofia Coppola.
As such, this project features creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli’s ingenuity instilled in their costume creation for Flora and for the Chorus, as well as the Teatro dell’Opera’s intricante handcrafted costumes. As for Violetta’s costumes, they are beautifully designed and crafted by Valentino’s Atelier.
Being an opera protagonist, the luxury brand has taken this long-time passion to new artistic heights, designing eclectic costumes and making the project the first to be supported by Fondazione Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti. The House has always supported these artistic endeavors, as it has seemingly designed the costumes for a lyrical opera in 1994 as well many other unforgettable experiences, from New York to Vienna.
With Sofia Coppola as the lyrical opera director chosen by Valentino, La Traviata is sure to succeed with flying colors! Tickets for the show are available at the box office of the Teatro dell'Opera and on www.operaroma.it and the show will be running for fifteen performances, from May 24th until June 30th, 2016.
