As a designer who cherishes feminine subtlety and simplistic heavy-mixings, Fatema Fardan has long been celebrated for her irreverent romantic twist and avant-gardist take on the traditional. Hailing from a family of fashion enthusiasts, the Emirati-born designer graduated from the American Intercontinental University in London, specializing in Fashion Design and Marketing. But it was probably her unconditional love for textiles and patterns that propelled her into the world of fashion.
With quite a few major achievements in her journal, Fatema Fardan has just added her Ramadan 2016 collection - featuring a line-up of dresses and kaftans- delicately incorporating glamor into traditions. Think cosmopolitan and customary, old and new. All romantically alluring but equally modest. The beautiful designer brought her fair share of long dresses with ruffled hems and curtain-like belts to seal the deal. Her kaftans truly and irrevocably portray her vision, as fine lace carefully surrounds the borders. She adds a spine to the collection by hollowing pastel-like colors, from pasty pink to sweet yellow and violet.
“This Ramadan, I wanted to shy away from traditional embroidery styles and try my hand at something more contemporary and feminine. I wanted to design pieces relevant to the region. When creating these kaftans, I had the “Symphony Girl” in mind. She’s style savvy and leads a cosmopolitan lifestyle but still has a sense of tradition” - Fatema Fardan
With more than a few whimsical hidden talents, Fatema Fardan has once again created wonders, as she gloriously infused her bespoke line with a sense of glamor, one that will surely have aficionadas swooning over her jaw-dropping flair. Exclusively made for BySymphony.com, Fardan’s kaftans are get-me-ready-for-Iftar gorgeous! Head to our Photo Gallery to get a glimpse of the bedazzling line.
