The fourth edition of Arab Fashion Week presented a slew of the region’s most prestigious brands, making the Gulf yet another addition to the illustrious four fashion capitals of the world. INGIE Paris showcased its Fall/Winter 2017-2018 collection during the last day of the show, offering an exquisite Arabian-meets-Parisian experience for guests and highlighting Creative Director Ingie Chalhoub’s irreverent taste. Models sashayed down the runway wearing contrasting numbers, blending together volumes and modesty, metallic tones and nature-like textures, seventies-inspired outfits and romantic silhouettes. The show was poetic, granting the attendees a sensual movement of floor-length skirts, undulating capes and oversized bows, with a simple touch of bronze tones and creamy hues. Our favorite part? Why it was surely the beautiful addition of embroidered brooches and the moniker oversized pearls on sleeves.

Not only was the Fall/Winter Collection 2017 a certified success, but the brand’s SS17 pop-up store in the boutique area gained huge momentum during the event, as it was opened to international press, influencers, celebrities and client prospects. Ingie Chalhoub, who was recently appointed Chief Creative Officer of Arab Fashion Council, will surely be making an influential impact on the council’s mission to promote the Middle East fashion industry on a global scale. The French-Lebanese designer has made quite the impression in the fashion scene, as she had previously received the Fashion Award for the Business of Fashion for her input in the making of Arab Fashion Week an equal addition to the already-existing four fashion events- New York, London, Milan and Paris.

Businesswoman and fashion designer Ingie Chalhoub commented: “I am thrilled to lead the creative efforts of Arab Fashion Council as I am part of an initiative that is bringing to life the vision to put Dubai on the map of the world’s most prominent fashion capitals in the world. It is also exciting to be able to identify and nurture regional talent and I look forward to helping them surmount the several challenges they face. The Arab Fashion Week this year is also fantastic for my brand, INGIE Paris, as we revealed our Fall Winter Collection and pre-collections during the only Ready-Couture Fashion Week in the world.”
