You say ‘red’, we hear ‘power’. It’s a color that comes off as super-daring on every wearer and it’s a tone that has long been associated with power and royalty. Since we’re halfway through August and Fall’s orang-y days are a couple of weeks away, it only seems fair to go whole-heartedly into power-dressing mode by elevating our allure in red and only red. So why wear red? Red is not only essentially eye-grabbing, but it’s also a great way to get yourself noticed without having to wear plunging necklines or mini-skirts. Ever since we can remember, we were told to wear black so as to look slimmer. We wore black so often we kind of got criticized for it. Well it’s fine time for us to change that monochromatic pattern and dare to shine with red outfits. One thing you should keep in mind though is that pulling off red requires a whole lot of finesse, and we all know there’s a really thin line between vulgar and elegant.

While the red daze was seen at every single runway show, it was Sara Sampaio’s sumptuous gown on Cannes’ red carpet that spoke to our inner diva and made our hearts swoon! We’ve rounded up some of the most eye-catching red numbers in the Photo Gallery below.

Insider tip: for a heightened red experience, play with silhouettes and layer your clothes!
