For the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2027 collection, Nicolas Ghesquière explores the relationship between Paris and New York through a vision shaped by contrast and cultural exchange. Titled Metropolitan Life, the collection reflects the many identities of New York – uptown and downtown, past and future, tradition and modernity existing side by side.
Inspired by the city’s energy and universality, the collection also draws parallels with Louis Vuitton’s global presence. Pop culture, pop art and fashion intersect through the rediscovery of a 1930s Louis Vuitton leather suitcase transformed into a canvas by American artist Keith Haring. His artworks appear across clothing and accessories, turning pieces into tributes to his visual language and legacy.
The collection combines structured tailoring, fluid silhouettes, embellished denim, graphic leather pieces and richly detailed accessories, merging elements of American street culture with refined French craftsmanship in a wardrobe that feels both energetic and sophisticated.
Presented within the salons of the Frick, the collection places American style through the lens of French savoir-faire. Blue jeans, leather and jersey are elevated alongside references to the Gilded Age, graffiti-inspired embroidery and vibrant colors, creating a dialogue between heritage, modernity and the evolving spirit of New York.
From blooming florals to the disparity in volumes, exceptional head accessories, 3D details and the swirls that seem never ending blurring where the piece starts and ends, Louis Vuitton flaunted its finesse in the most dazzling way.
