Keith Haring x Louis Vuitton: Pop Art, Reimagined

Thirteen collectible Capucines bags bring the artist’s rebellious spirit into Louis Vuitton’s eighth Artycapucines chapter, where contemporary art meets French savoir-faire.

When pop art meets haute maroquinerie, fashion becomes a canvas for creative expression. For Louis Vuitton, the iconic Capucines bag takes on a new identity through the bold, unmistakable universe of Keith Haring, transforming everyday luxury into collectible works of art.

Launched in 2019, Artycapucines invites leading contemporary artists to reinterpret the House’s signature bag, merging individual artistic visions with exceptional craftsmanship. For its eighth chapter, the initiative celebrates Haring, whose graphic lines, dancing figures and radiant symbols captured the irreverent energy of downtown New York.

Created in close collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation, the collection draws inspiration from a 1930s Louis Vuitton trunk that the artist famously customized by hand in 1984. This artistic connection resurfaced at Nicolas Ghesquière’s Cruise 2027 show at New York’s Frick Collection, bringing Haring’s distinctive visual language into the House’s contemporary fashion narrative.

Across 13 designs, Haring’s vibrant iconography animates the Capucines silhouette, balancing playful graphics with Louis Vuitton’s meticulous French savoir-faire. Each creation reflects a dialogue between artistic freedom and the precision of luxury craftsmanship.

The collection also builds on the House’s longstanding relationship with the art world, from Gaston-Louis Vuitton’s commissions in the 1920s to collaborations with Yayoi Kusama and Takashi Murakami. With Haring’s contribution, Artycapucines now encompasses more than 50 designs by over 35 artists worldwide.

Ahead of its limited-edition global launch on January 1, 2027, selected bags debut at Art Basel Paris at the Grand Palais, alongside Haring’s original 1984 trunk – uniting archival heritage and contemporary creativity in a celebration of Louis Vuitton as a true House of Culture.
