Fashion is wearable art. That statement holds especially true when these two disciplines collide to create a powerful couture collection like that of Azzi & Osta’s.

Powerful duo Georges Azzi and Assaad Osta have never been strangers to the beauty of art. And so, for their Spring-Summer 2018 collection, they mended the bridge between the Baroque Period’s unique artistry and today’s fashion world. The talented designers drew inspiration from the life of Marie de’ Medici, vividly described through the eyes – better yet, hands – of renowned Baroque artist Peter Paul Rubens’ in his Marie de’ Medici Cycle.

The muse, who would later become Queen of France, was an avid supporter of music, fashion, literature and the arts, developing throughout the years quite the taste for artistic projects. Combine Marie de’ Medici’s notable power with Ruben’s genius, and you have yourself an exceptional base for an exquisite couture collection. And exquisite it was! Think dramatic silhouettes and the 17th century opulence reflected on today’s modern woman. Think intricately embroidered billowing capes, contoured silhouettes, diaphanous gowns and exaggerated volumes. Think colors that skew from whites, purples, pinks and golds. Think a true modern-day Marie de’ Medici.

A collection that stretches way beyond the borders of fashion, recreating the past with delicate fabrics – from silks to satins and tulles – and enrapturing us in a delightful journey through the beauty of art, fashion and whatever comes in between! The Photo Gallery, right this way…
