Easy and Natural Steps to Keep Looking Young

Let me preface this by saying I grew up with a mother who looks 50 at 70. Her big secret is to be young at heart, no special creams or make up. As I approach the big 4-0 I am noticing more wrinkles and signs of fatigue. It seems like everyone looks so perfect on social media. Whether it’s botox, lash extensions, lip fillers or microblading, everyone is getting more and more perfect. I started to wonder if I should try any of these, but first I thought is there anything else I can change or I am doing wrong to look less tired or younger? Let’s go over the “natural, non-invasive” checklist to make sure.

Get more sleep- I know I am guilty of this one but sometimes our lifestyles take over. One trick I have learned is setting an alarm on my phone to remind me that I should go to bed soon if I plan on getting my 8 hours of sleep.

Dye your greys- I do usually get my greys touched up on a monthly basis and have been sticking to my natural brunette hair color. I did read though that some highlights will make your face light up a bit. This can go both ways; sometimes darker hair is more youthful but I love how I feel when summer hits and I ask for a balayage.

Avoid the sun or use sunscreen- I used to bake with baby oil in the sun, but these days I barely go in the sun unless it’s for a short walk in the neighborhood. I have noticed a big difference in my skin but then again, a tan looks so youthful as well, so just try to protect your face and decolletage.

Finally, love yourself and take good care of your skin daily along with eating a well-balanced diet. Remember, true beauty comes from within and a smile is always youthful, but with age also comes more confidence, embrace it!
