It was during the 75th Venice Film Festival that Alain Resnais’ film “Last Year at Marienbad” premiered, in a version entirely restored by Studiocanal, with the support of CHANEL.
The screening gathered Stefano Francia di Celle, President of the festival’s classic films selection with Yann Le Prado, Director of the Studiocanal catalogue and 400 people, including 120 CHANEL guests. A dinner in a beautiful palazzo was organized after the screening by CHANEL, welcoming actresses and Maison ambassadresses alike such as
Anna Mouglalis, Tilda Swinton, Alma Jodorowsky, Alessandra Mastronardi, and actor and ambassador Gaspard Ulliel – amongst many other celebrities.
The star-studded event was a true testament to Gabrielle Chanel’s expertise, who in 1961, designed the dresses worn by Delphine Seyrig in Last Year at Marienbad. And it was during that same year that the film was awarded the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival, much like this year’s masterpiece by Alain Resnais.
