Just months after Tunisian-born designer Azzedine Alaïa passed away, the label opened its first shop in the Middle-East, more specifically in The Dubai Mall’s fashion avenue. And safe to say, the boutique perfectly represented the late icon’s vision of beauty and fashion.

And so, for Spring-Summer 2019, the label unveiled a fabulous collection of ready-to-wear clothes, accessories and footwear – some of which were archive pieces dating back to the designer’s reign. The main collection on the other hand features a wide series of cotton shirt-dresses that graze the figure ever-so elegantly, alongside a slew of striped flirty dresses paired with strapped flatforms. The silhouettes are extremely feminine and reveal a midi skirt matched with a criss-crossed bustier, a cut-out lightweight coat, laser-perforated cotton items, leather belts that cinch the waist all-too perfectly, fringed tunics, poplin pieces, python coats and denim ensembles. One could definitely notice the collection’s successful attempt at carrying Alaïa’ legacy, as the pieces were drenched in a timeless aesthetic, one that could place women at the forefront of fashion. The selection of bags, shoes and other accessories perfectly complimented the theme, revealing platform espadrilles and laser-cut belts, amongst other fabulous items.
