There are few things that can instantly teleport you to a summer haven and as it turns out, Georges Chakra’s Couture Spring-Summer 2019 collection is high on top of that list.

Lebanese designer Georges Chakra has dressed so many Hollywood celebrities – such as Lily Collins, Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez, amongst others – one could definitely get lost in the perennial list. And we get it…his couture gowns are simply exquisite and in so many ways, very red-carpet material. This collection in particular summoned the inner-diva in every woman, with its voluminous shapes and sharp lines – think white lace bardot overalls and frilly sleeves, a sequined silver gown that hugged the body like a glove and a fiery orange silk gown that could only be described as sumptuously sultry. There were big bows accentuating the delicate side of the pieces, taking over the clasp of the shoulders while other gowns were but a mere ephemeral moment of pure summer bliss, what with the particular abundance of tulle and silk fabrics. The show, which had initially started out with more pared-down pieces, eventually evolved into ultra-feminine, show-stopping gowns that only the likes of Hollywood stars would irreverently pull off.
