Color-Blocking à la Runway

Salvatore Ferragamo

It seems that opposites do attract as one of the season’s most proliferating trends is color-blocking and safe to say, you’re in for a very colorful ride! Color-blocking is the act of pairing multiple solid colors that substantially go against each other, in order to create a very bold and bright outfit.

It’s actually not a very modern trend, as it was very common in the sixties. Fast forward to today, designers have re-introduced it, adapting it to a modern way of dressing and pairing it to the powerful and daring woman in us. Soon after it was revived on the runways, color-blocking moved to the streets and everyone who’s anyone was seen wearing it. Need we say more?

Now we’re not saying monochrome dressing is out – quite the contrary in fact – but it’s nice to clash solid colors in a big melting pot from time to time. And so, since there’s nothing like a few runway inspirations to get your fashion juices flowing, we’ve rounded up Spring-Summer 2019’s most fabulous color-blocking looks.
