Winter… à la CHANEL

Although Fall/Winter 2019-2020 ready-to-wear show was missing the bow of the great Karl Lagerfeld, the quintessential spirit of CHANEL reigned supreme. At each show, the legendary French house immerses us in a world that we could have never imagined visiting without actually being there and that’s all through looks that bring together elegance, sophistication and most importantly, the core aesthetical values of CHANEL.

How to spend winter the true CHANEL way? Well, this collection will definitely put you on the right path. For this season, we can’t help but remember the Grand Palais that morphed into a mountain donning its purest white attires. “CHANEL in the Snow” was the name of the show, and through a little trip down memory lane, we now impatiently wait for the start of the cold season.

This winter, the CHANEL woman will fill her wardrobe with silhouettes blending masculine and feminine accents and a winter palette of white, beige, black and navy blue punctuated with flashes of purple, fuchsia, brick and emerald green. Tweed – which is a true CHANEL signature – will display its masculine feel on her suits with their high-waist wide-cut trousers. As for her overcoats, each one of them will blow minds in its own way: whether supplied with a high collar, a mini cape, a shawl collar, a trompe-l’oeil bolero, a faux fur lapel, a belt or maxi pockets, to each its charm. And since a CHANEL woman’s wardrobe wouldn’t be complete without tweed jackets, some of them will be trimmed with a thick wool braid, woven or left almost raw, while others will reveal a flared collar and a trompe-l’oeil bolero. This is not all, as soft knit pullovers, sweaters embellished with crystals and cardigans with mountain motifs will take part of this stylish winter fiesta along with ski outfits that she would wear with urban pieces such as wide-leg trousers in big check tweed or a pencil skirt because, why not? Isn’t that the true CHANEL rebellious spirit?

Since a picture is worth a thousand words, let’s check out the looks of the Fall/Winter 2019-2020 collection!
