Picture Lauren Hutton channeling the seventies’ relaxed glamor and you’ll understand what Silvia Venturini Fendi was trying to give off during Fendi’s Spring-Summer 2020 collection. Re-taking the helms of the Italian House after Karl Lagerfeld’s passing, the creative director re-imagined the golden girl of this particular era into this fabulously stylish and relaxed silhouette. And so, she sent out models wearing what could only be described as an earthy palette, with brown and camel tones taking the lead. There were matelassé numbers such as shorts and jackets that were matched with 70s-inspired collared shirts.
Some of the outfits also revealed some sort of a hibiscus pattern while others were abundant with floral prints. Fur coats and jackets – a Fendi staple – made wide appearances as well, reminding us of the brand’s forte. The models had a relaxed yet extremely playful allure, showing off plunging necklines on dresses at times and high-waisted skirts with cropped tops at other times.
