If there’s one thing we love and cherish about Tod’s, it’s the ability to create an understated elegance using tradition and talent all at once. To be honest, there’s a lot of things one should admire about this brand, from its Italian know-how, to its timeless elegance and its all-too perfect artisanal quality.
And yet with every show, we seem to forget how fabulous this Italian House is and we’re always reminded by the hoard of models sashaying their way through the runway with pure class. This time around, the collection was no less charismatic than its predecessors. We saw the House’s staple leather being used and crafted into so many pieces, from leather coats to leather plissé midi skirts, to perforated leather and vinyl leather. Yes, leather is sweet! Of course, there were the occasional monotonous pantsuits and one particular blazer with a matching Bermuda that had a boyish charm to it, but all in all, the collection had an urban ease that could not have been made without a few zebra-printed numbers and of course the staple mocassins.
