To pay tribute to the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld, the White Shirt project was launched on September 25th, 2019 in Paris, after their display the night before at the Maison KARL LAGERFELD. The latter was turned into a private gallery where exclusive designs were showcased as a first stop before the exhibition travels to KARL LAGERFELD stores around the world. The designs will be exclusively available at Karl.com and farfetch.com. As for the proceeds, they will all be donated to the “Sauver la Vie” charity initiative.
Carine Roitfeld, Style Advisor at Maison KARL LAGERFELD, and one of Karl’s closest friends, organized the event along with other friends and family. Karl’s own words inspired the event’s theme. He always believed in simplicity; and what describes it better than a white shirt.
Artists, actors, models, designers and many more attended the event and added their touches to the iconic white shirt, thus celebrating this design each in their own way. We can’t forget to mention the 7 shirts of 7 different designs available for sale made by 7 celebrities: Carine Roitfeld, Cara Delevingne, Tommy Hilfiger, Sébastien Jondeau, Diane Kruger, Kate Moss and Takashi Murakami that will be replicated 77 times and sold for 777 euros per piece. Why the number 7? Well, simply because it was Lagerfeld’s favorite number.
