The “Burberry Festive Film” is the heart of Burberry’s Festive Campaign for 2015. Starring quintessential British personalities from the worlds of fashion and cinema, the 3-minute film pays tribute to the iconic BAFTA-winning British film “Billy Elliot”, which celebrates its 15th anniversary this year.
On Tuesday, the British brand held an all-star event at its global flagship store located on Regent Street in London. More than 500 celebrity and British VIP guests were in attendance. Following the screening, British dancer Nat Sweeney, who plays Billy in “Billy Elliot the Musical”, performed a sequence from the play.
The festive short is based on the opening sequence of “Billy Elliot” and depicts original footage from the film. Featuring James Bay, Romeo Beckham, Naomi Campbell, James Corden, Michelle Dockery, George Ezra, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Sir Elton Jones and Julie Walters, the film captures the Burberry dressed stars, jumping up and down on a bed, enjoying the tunes of T Rex’s “Cosmic Dancer”, which was part of the movie’s original soundtrack.
The short film is part of Burberry’s 2015 Festive campaign, which also includes a stills campaign shot by famed fashion photographer Mario Testino. With the festive season just around the corner, the brand’s full range of festive gifts is now available in stores and on Burberry.com.
