“Shocking Pink”; two words that the House of Schiaparelli lives by, two words that define the Maison and two words that are but a mere representation of its lingo. And today, kick-starting the long-anticipated Paris Haute Couture Week, the French Capital was alight with Schiaparelli’s perky yet elegant spirit.
Over the decades, we’ve come to expect certain elements from each and every brand. And thus, we’ve all always looked forward to Schiaparelli’s colorful designs, voluminous looks and luscious fabrics. And today, the fashion scene witnessed just that. Creative Director Bertrand Guyon sent out models sporting a look that could only be described as “So Schiaparelli” – from the eccentric makeup and hairdos to the surreal pieces. There were ruffled chiffon dresses enveloping the models ever-so elegantly, while colorful feathered dresses made quite the statement. The pieces were embellished with floral inspirations, and satin dresses had famous portraits scattered all around them. One sequined romper distinguished itself from the rest of the collection, oozing nothing less than pure style and confidence, while other pieces were shining with overzealous ruffles. Model Taylor Hill strutted her good looks as she perfectly pulled off a “Shocking pink” dress paired with cowboy boots while other models paraded down the runways in fitted satin skirt-suits – all of which were embellished with floral designs.
