With Anna Dello Russo and Irina Shayk sitting front row, Tod’s Fall/Winter 2019-2020 runway show was looking very promising. And promising it was.

For an Italian House mostly known for its fine leather craftsmanship, the brand’s fight song was indeed a beautiful display of head-to-toe leather looks. In Tod’s lingo, that meant finely tailored leather trench-coats, leather midi-skirts, leather blouses, heck leather everything. The looks were all topped off with knee-high leather boots and featured sometimes – if not all the times – a croc-effect pattern. The mood of the collection was initially reflected through dark numbers, but then shifted into lighter ones, with camel tones and brighter hues appearing one by one.

A standout was a camel PVC trench-coat, finished off with a pair of black ankle boots. There were leopard printed pieces – from coats to tops and high-slit skirts – and there was a unique combination of red and camel pieces that seemed to form a contrasting front. Comfortable yet extremely poised and sophisticated; that’s what Tod’s is all about.
